  1. Such an amazing feeling to cross that finish line!!! I was starting to drag around mile 10, however, constant praying, and trying to maintain a positive mind set pulled me through! God truly is amazing!!! After not running for 11 days, eating and sleeping crappy while on vacation... I know the only reason I was able to run a 13 mile run is becasue God was right beside me!!! Still not ready for the marathon, haha, but i'm definitely more excited after finishing the race on Sunday! And THANK YOU to everyone on our team who encouraged one another on the trails, that helps me a ton! And to have those that didn't run the half at the finish line cheering you on... You guys are all AMAZING!!! :)

  2. The Sturgis Falls Half Marathon was my first road race ever (but, by the way that was in 1989 not 2010). While I have not kept track of the exact total I have run somewhere over 40 half marathons since then. The point of this is to say that this year’s race was one of the most enjoyable that I have run. It was so great to see all of you teammates out on the course. I believe the encouragement received and given made the run seem easier. And at the end, knowing the effort so many of you were exerting, it made me push a bit harder to also finish well. Congratulations to all you “real first timers”. I hope you can all say this “running stuff” was the start of something really good in your lives and maybe still be going 20+ years from now.

    God bless,

  3. Sunday's race was truly amazing. I was very nervous but once we started running, my nerves turned into joy! My goal was to finish in 3 hours and I came in at 2 hours, 52 minutes!! Yeah God!! The first half felt better than the second half but God gave me the endurance and strength to push myself to the finish line. I personally want to give God thanks for my 2 awesome running partners, Helen and Amy, for their friendship and encouragement along the way. We didn't know each other before we started to train but I know the Lord brought us together for a reason! And Don, you are absolutely the best. I do TRUST you and look forward to completing the marathon with ALL of you team members!!
