Okay, come on, let's see if we can get at least 25 things on this list.
What I love about running and/or training as a part of this Iowans For Africa Team:
1. I love when I get past about the first mile of each run...that seems to be a hard part of the run for me and there seems to be a "groove" that I need to get into each run.
2. I love the camaraderie that we're discovering as we run together and as teammates cheer one another on in this effort.
3. I love the unbelievable gift of beautiful weather that God has given us during these weeks of training.

4. As an adult-onset athlete, I simply love the fact that I FINALLY have a team, a coach, and a jersey with my name on it.
ReplyDelete5. I love having an answer when people ask "what have you been up to latley" .. no more "ehh.. not much".. now it's "I'm training for a marathon to help AIDS orphans in Africa!"

8. i love that my diet is now supposed to include more carbs in it.

10. wait, how can i forget....i love my running buddies. how motivating to know there are other people waiting for you to show up to run at 6 a.m.????

13. i love that i can treat myself on long run days to a DQ blizzard and not feel 1 ounce of guilt for it!
14. i love that my body actually CAN do what my mind tells it to do. minds are a powerful thing. I must use it positively!
15. i love my team and my coach. enough said. you guys are the BEST!
16. i love that my husband asks in the morning "how was your run"? instead of "when are you getting up...soon, I hope "?
17. I love that I am doing this, actually completing this huge goal, and feel great all around for it. I like to run. Yes, I just typed that. I like to run.
18. I'm loving the challenge of a new distance and how it's a whole new type of running to me.
